CALVARY CHAPEL 242
OUR BELIEFS
"But in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect,"
1 Peter 3:15
Our Vision
Calvary Chapel 242's vision is teaching God's word and reaching out in love. In every ministry, outreach, and service, we desire to bring Christians closer to God and to bring nonbelievers to a saving relationship with Him. Our goal is to show how God's Word and faith in Him apply to everyday life.

Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is the foundation and cornerstone of the church. He came to restore man’s broken relationship with God. His finished work on the cross made that possible. 1 Corinthians 3:11, Ephesians 2:20, Romans 5:6-10
The Bible
The Bible is God's inspired, infallible word and is the final authority for faith and life. Therefore, we emphasize teaching it in public, studying it in private, and applying it as a guide for our daily lives.
(1 Timothy 4:13, 2 Timothy 3:16, 1 Thessalonians 2:13)
Worship
We believe God is worthy of all praise, reverence, and love. We take special time to worship Him in church through song. It is our goal to worship Him with our whole lives as well; at home, at work, and play.
(John 4:23, Colossians 3:16, 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)
Christian Growth
As believers, we are to be growing in our walk with the Lord. We encourage this by abiding in Jesus Christ through obedience to His word, prayer, and fellowship and by yielding our lives to the Holy Spirit.
(John 15:4, Romans 8:29, Ephesians 5:18)

Our Mission
Win
Win a person to Jesus Christ through the word of the Lord.
"And he said to them, Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature." - Mark 16:15
Disciple
Equip a person to fulfill the ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ. "For the equipping of the saints for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ." - Ephesians 4:12
Send
Train a person in the teaching of the word of the Lord. "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." - Matthew 28:19
